New Soup

Vaughn got movie The Tale of Despereaux for Easter. We were watching it the other night and there is a part in the movie where the Queen eats some soup. Vaughn said, "I want to make that soup mom." So, I got online to see if I could find the soup recipe and when I couldn't find it I searched for a recipe that looked like the soup in the movie. I was lucky enough to find one. Soooo tonight we made it and tomorrow it simmers in the crock pot all day. We now have a new meal on our menu, we've named it Despereaux Soup.
The movie that inspired it all. :)

Happy Easter

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter! We had so much fun with Vaughn this year! He started the morning following the Easter Bunny Footprints the Easter Bunny had left behind to find little surprises and then his Easter Basket. The Easter Bunny didn't forget about Mya either, but he has a rule that you don't get to follow footprints until you can walk:)

We went to Tippy Country Club for Easter Brunch. They had face painting and an Easter egg hunt for the kids. If you find the Golden Egg you win a prize. Below are pictures of our fun day AND Vaughn found the Golden Egg!!!

Our personal Easter Bunny.

Chicago

Our friends have 2 children with birthdays 2 weeks apart so to celebrate Andrew's 6th birthday and Morgan's 4th birthday they decided to go to Chicago. Andrew wanted to go to the Lego store and Morgan wanted to go to American Girl. We tagged along and had a really good time. Thanks Eytcheson's!!!

First stop, Shedd Aquarium
Vaughn next to his "big catch!"

Vaughn looking at all of the different fish in the HUGE aquarium.

Mya enjoying her first view at all of these fish! Their bathroom at home is all "under the sea" theme, thanks to the hardwork of Grandma!! :) When we got home from Chicago Mya all of a sudden understood the theme of their bathroom and spent lots of time talking and touching all of the fish on their walls.

Mya and Daddy.

I thought these blue frogs were cool.

Goofing around in the camping part of the aquarium.

Vaughn is jumping ship!

Done at the aquarium, now time to hit the cold streets of Chicago - TOO THE LEGO STORE! :)

Andrew, Vaughn and Morgan posing with a lego man outside the store.

Posing with R2D2.

I wasn't able to get Morgan in the American Girl Store. When Rachea and Morgan saw it they took off and I couldn't catch them to get Morgan's reaction upon entering, but I can say Morgan had a BLAST in there!

Mya is very angry she can't get into her favorite snack, Oatmeal Cream Pies.

Some favorites

More of my favorite pictures....

Dirtbiking with my buddy Andrew!

Taking a joy ride with my buddy Morgan!

Hammin' it up for the camera!

6 precious reasons 3 moms go to the store a lot more often to stock up on snacks over the summer!!! :)

We finally had a nice day and Mya went outside and was able to test out her swing! I'll have to post the video, her giggles are so sweet!!!

We had lunch with some friends of ours and as you can see Avery and Mya played well together.

Mya exploring her big rocking chair.

Mya got these cute tights for her birthday. She fell asleep like this and you guessed it, I ran to get my camera! :)

Jumpstart on that baby fat!

Jeff takes the kids while I make dinner and plays with them. Vaughn usually picks dancing to REALLY LOUD music. Now that Mya is mobile and everything on her level (in her mind) is free game to explore she found some old 1lb weights. In this video she's trying to figure out what these weights do and dance at the same time. Combined it looks like she's working out!!!

VIDEOS!!

That's right! I figured out how to post video! I'm so excited!!

Sledding the Dyson way.....

Sledding the Eytcheson way.

Promised Pics:)

Mya is not one that wakes up quickly. As you can see above, I took this b/c I thought her bed head was funny but her hair is so light you can't see all of the "craziness" going on:)

Vaughn, Andrew and Morgan built a fort in our basement.

Twins:)

My funny little travelers.

Stand back! Only 10-12 years and they're on the loose!

Hmmm, I bore her already and she's only 1!

Ugh! She has the teenage look down many years too early!

Mr. Donut Man!

Definitely a Tomboy.......or not?

Hi! Today I find another reason why I'm convinced my daughter will be able to keep up with the boys in the neighborhood as she gets older. Vaughn was playing with his race track last weekend. As we packed up for his sleepover with his Mimi and Papa he says he wants to bring that along. We get it all put away and loaded in the car and then Jeff asks me where the 4 cars went that we were racing with. I told him I didn't know I thought he put them with the race track when he loaded it in the car. We find a couple more cars to take and figured the other cars would show up eventually. Fast forward to this morning when I was packing Mya's little "purse" for church tomorrow. What do I find, why 4 racing cars. Not just any 4 racing cars but the exact 4 racing cars we were looking for 7 days earlier on our way out the door! Well, she did put them in her purse so maybe she's trying to be a tomboy girly girl. Only time will tell! :)

Today is a finding a place for everything in the house day, according to Jeff, so hopefully he'll grant me time to post some pics. I know it's been awhile and I've already gone back on my once a week promise. To be fair, not too much has been going on that's "blog worthy."

Funny Little Mya

I promise I have LOTS of pictures coming soon but Mya has just cracked me up the past week and I wanted to share it with you.

The first thing is Mya has learned to make a new sound, "puh." She LOVES making this new sound and she loves the newfound word she has learned to say with her new sound. Now that she can make the puh sound she now can say "Papa" (what the kids call my dad) That is all she says now. No more "mama," or "dada." Just Buh buh buh which is for Vaughn whom she affectionately calls buh buh buh and "papa papa papa." Fear not Mimi, Grandma and Grandpa, your names aren't far behind! They always get the names of the ones who spoil them down very quickly!!! :) Case and point, she's got Papa down you three are definitely next!!!!

My other story is kind of cute. Jeff's nickname for Mya is "stinky." I personally hate it, but his thought behind this is that when she's 15 no one will want to date someone with the nickname "stinky" therefore she won't get on the dating scene until he thinks she's ready. Sweet idea to a point:) Anyway she had a poopy diaper and I said, "Oh Mya you really are stinky!" She then proceeds to say, "dada dada dada dada!" She now associates Jeff with the word stinky. He'd better watch out or instead of daddy he's going to be stinky!!! :)

Pics to come soon! Check on Thursday for a special post. Yet another big day in our house!!! :)
